Usually there's some selling to do with couples when it comes to booking. It's a big decision for a very special occasion so no stone should be left unturned. I've been lucky that my portfolio and reviews have given people a good amount of confidence in me and my work. Stephanie and Drew didn't need much selling! They were ready to work with me after a phone call! I'm flattered when people like my work enough to sign a contract but it makes me a little nervous. For me it's as much about the relationship as it is the photos.
I met with Stephanie a couple of weeks before the wedding to make sure we were on the same page and knew right away we would get along great on the day. She is so down to earth and laid back. She was ready to go with the flow and not be too rigid about timing and the usual "must haves".
The pair got ready and had their reception at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel in Portsmouth but the ceremony was at The Moffatt-Ladd House and Gardens about a block away from the hotel. I hadn't been to the Moffatt-Ladd House before but it's a picturesque historic house and property tucked away in the middle of Portsmouth.
We did a first look in the gardens which provided a beautiful backdrop. Stephanie looked stunning and Drew looked pretty sharp himself in a blue tux. From there we did a mini whirlwind tour of the area and got some great photos. We even stopped traffic for a few shots. Why not? ;) The bridal party was next before ceremony time.

The ceremony was set up in the upper garden and Stephanie's dad officiated which really made it that much more special. I love seeing a couple look at each other during the ceremony. Their eyes say it all and it's a wonderful moment to capture.
When Steph and Drew were officially hitched they had a horse and buggy waiting to take them around town for some photos. This was my first time with a horse and buggy situation so it was pretty run and gun. Got my workout in!

The reception was a blast. One of my favorite DJ's, Eric Pomerleau from Audible Events, was MC'ing. It turns out Stephanie and Drew had known him for years as he used to DJ at various places around UNH. I love working with other vendors I know and am comfortable with. We make sure we are all on the same page and working together.
There were some heartfelt speeches from the best man and maid of honor. Drew had lost a dear friend the year before so they paid tribute to him before dinner service started.
Cannoli's were the dessert of choice. I'd be lying if I said I didn't steal one before I left :) The party began after parent dances and then I had one last chance to steal them away for a couple of night photos.
It was a super wedding with the nicest couple ever. I hope you enjoy some photos from their day!
