Darrin & Melissa Did Things a Bit Differently!
I've known Darrin for a long time. We went to high school together and even the same college but it was when we both lived in LA that we really got to know each other better.
I met Melissa for the first time when they both flew back to the east coast to make arrangements for their wedding. They decided to wed in Chester, NH which is only the next town over from where I live now, and the town where Darrin grew up and where his mother still lives.
We met for lunch and they really wanted me to shoot their wedding but I was, unfortunately, booked on their day so they discussed it and opted to move their date to the following weekend so that I could be a part of their day. I've never had anyone move their wedding day for me so I was quite flattered that they were willing to do that.
I was really excited for their wedding. Not just because Darrin was a friend but because of how they were planning to celebrate... In a cemetery! As fun as the day was I was shocked and saddened to hear that Darrin's father, Dick, had passed away just a week after the wedding. He and Darrin were close and he even officiated the ceremony. You never know what life can throw at you and Darrin and Melissa were so grateful that there were some nice pictures of him from the day. RIP Dick Cummings.
It was really refreshing to shoot something that was truly unique. A wedding like this gives me room to experiment and do things a bit differently. I used some light painting techniques once the sun went down and made the best use of the fall foliage as I could. Please enjoy some photos from their big day!

Gorgeous! So many childhood memories captured in the scene and in seeing the happy grooms face. This is the coolest wedding I've ever seen! Beautiful photography. Congrats, Darrin and Melissa!
